Lowlands of Ecuador
Very unusual bright yellow pear-shaped fruit with nipple-like protrusions. Violet colored flowers. It shows thorns on its stem as well as on the surface of its deeply lobed leaves. This is an erect tropical shrub growing up to 1.5m high. The fruit contains numerous brownish-red seeds in it.
Sow seeds in well draining soil mixture plant at 1.5cm depth. Keep them warm and the soil damp.

Water: Water sparingly. Always leaving the soil dry for a few days between one watering and the other.
Soil: Locate in a soft soil with good drainage.
Fertilizer: Feed periodically. Use a fertilizer rich in nitrogen and potassium, which will favour the development of new vegetation and promote flowering.
